        On the RFID card market now, there have three eco friendly materials to choose: paper, wooden and cork. Here we list them to compare and tell you how to choose your own eco friendly and sustainable RFID cards. 

       No matter you choose which one eco friendly material as your RFID cards, all the three materials have same performance as traditional plastic cards. 

Paper RFID Cards

      Compare to other two eco friendly material, paper cards are the cheaper one, mostly they are in matte finish and glossy finish with full color(CMYK) printing on both sides. As both sides can add film, so these paper cards can be produced in waterproof. Currently most of paper cards are in coated paper in different thickness from 0.3mm to 1.0mm. This thickness are better fit hotel key card holder/slot to get power easily.

Wooden RFID Cards

       As the raw material and complicated production processes, wooden RFID cards are obvious expensive than paper RFID cards, as recently innovation on equipment, wooden cards price is down a lot compared to few years ago. Wooden cards surface can brush a special oil to make them waterproof. As market request on thickness, wooden RFID cards can do from 0.9mm thickness to 5mm thickness(even thicker than 5mm thickness). But wooden material is fragile, so the thinner, the easy to break, mostly they are in 2.0mm thickness or 1.3mm thickness, as hotel keycard holder need to no more than 1.4mm thickness, then it can put into the holder easily. There have several wooden materials on the market to choose: cherry, birch, beech, sapele, walnut, bamboo. And usually these wooden materials have FSC certificate. 

Cork RFID Cards

         Cork cards is also one of wooden material RFID cards, it’s a special wooden material. As mentioned above wooden RFID cards are fragile, some clients complain that wooden cards are easy to break. These cork RFID cards don’t have this issues, they can be foldable and flexible. They are born to compensate wooden RFID cards defect on easy to break. So this cork RFID cards have wooden cards advantages and plastic cards advantages. They are the most great works on the card market now.
